Summary:
This study is part of the Comprehensive Analysis of Emerging Competences and Economic Activities launched by the
European Commission. It develops alternative scenarios for the textiles, clothing an leather sector – a manufacturing sector which belongs to the precursors of globalisation. Being forced to use the advantages of international labour division for decades, the sector reveals the mechanisms of global value chains, technology transfer and human resource development. With three scenarios the study puts a spot on the future of this sector.
